Paediatrics is a branch of medicine that deals with the health and disease of children. The department consists of a children’s ward, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a neonatal intensive care unit. The outpatient unit (OPD) has a pediatric section which includes an immunization clinic on request. Immunization is provided by a trained vaccinator.
Neonatology is a sub-speciality that involves the care of newborn babies. It usually starts immediately after birth and later is based in an intensive care unit and looks after premature babies or those who have problems at birth. Paediatrics deals with day-to-day pediatric fevers, infectious diseases and also developmental, social, or behavioural problems
